There’s a crowd gathered in Anaheim, California. A crowd of engineers, designers, data administrators and others involved in the product development process who are interested in what’s to come in 3D software and how others are using it. Some are wearing ties, others are wearing flip-flops and some are wearing both. We’re out at the PTC product user conference–this year called PTC Live Global. We’re capturing the event, behind the curtain and amongst the crowd, to give you a little taste of what’s in store.
PTC Live Global 2013
While most CAD conferences run the typical agenda of reception, keynote and sessions each are set apart by the attendees and the customers they feature. PTC’s customer span some of the most recognized brands in the World; companies like Braun, John Deere, Triumph Motorcycles and General Electric. Of course, there’s also a good mix of smaller companies, independent designers and engineers creating consumer products that are absolutely ingenious. Everyone in the General Session was able to hear from execs at a few of those companies. You might say, any of them could use any ol’ 3D software to develop their products–likely they use additional software as well–For their primary software, however, they have chosen PTC Creo and this, is PTC Live.
We had a great round table interview with Brian Thompson, VP Product Management, CAD Segment with PTC and will be posting that up this week on Engineer vs. Designer.
